Good Old War stopped by WNRN’s studio in Charlottesville, VA and performed Loud Love a song on the upcoming album Come Back As Rain out on March 6, 2012 on Sargent House
One of my favorite bands on my very favorite radio station. So so great.

Ryan Adams - Come Pick Me Up
I’ve been playing all week gearing up for the show on Friday and I started effing around with my harmonica. Then I started effing around with Ryan Adams (songs). Then I hit record on my laptop.
Its no secret, my feelings for Ryan Adams and this song in particular. I even used it for SNMC twice, I love it so.
Here’s my little rendition of a great tune. Hope it satisfies you.

Brand New - Okay, I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don’t
I don’t really believe in guilty pleasures, in that I don’t believe you should apologize for your own internal logic for liking different things. That said, I admire when somebody fesses up to a guilty pleasure, because it shows they don’t take themselves too seriously. But, what’s guilty anymore? Personally, I really like the new Beyonce, but it’s because I think it’s really good and I don’t feel guilty about that. I like Blink-182 but, again, I don’t think there’s any reason to feel guilty about it. And as for the song posted, “Okay, I Believe You, but My Tommy Gun Don’t,” it was my high school mantra, so don’t even try to make me feel guilty about it.
I think Brand New has some great melodies, but if I feel guilty about listening to them, it’s only because I’m embarrassed about how much I like their stupid lyrics, which were etched into the soles of my 17-year-old self’s Chuck Taylors. “My tongue’s the only muscle of my body that works harder than my heart” is a hilariously contrived line that I sing with burning religious fervor every chance I get. I guess I feel a little guilty about still relating to a line that was written by and for teenagers and their hormonal hydrogen bomb hearts, but I’d be lying to myself if I thought that, here, 10 years later, I’m still not a slave to adolescent impulses. I’m on Tumblr, for heavenssake.
INOJ - Love You Down (via)
Hello ‘97, the year of wide-leg carpenter jeans, babydoll t-shirts, Leonardo DiCaprio, those hair-color combs that basically just painted your hair weird frosty colors, and Celine Dion.
As for me, ‘97 saw a Soma starting off the 6th grade with her first Radiohead album, OK Computer, to guide her through the tough times that was middle school. However, loving Radiohead didn’t mean that I couldn’t love this song by INOJ.
And the video? Oh gods. It’s perfect and everything I could have hoped for in a video for a song like this. Just check the dance moves towards the end. How can anyone not love that?
Great song.
