WOW just had a flashback of going to Chicago for TAI for the first time. A bunch of the message board got together at a couple rooms in the Purple Hotel (which was apparently closed in 2008) and I was sleeping in the armchair since I had to get up earliest for my flight home. I remember this guy Matt covering me up as I was dozing off. Shit. I had completely forgotten about that trip till just now.

i know we haven’t gone barricade in a while, we haven’t seen a proper headliner in a while, we haven’t seen them as the va crew in a while. but goddamn i am going to miss the butcher saying hi from behind the kit when he spots me. what a great dude. i really like the animal upstairs stuff and i’m sure he’ll succeed with that and with whatever else comes next…but my heart’s breaking a little here.
