So last week I won tickets from WNRN to go see Blind Pilot—I’d have gone anyway, but I saved $21 which is great. I had seen them before, in March-ish, in Charlottesville. I’d stayed way back and hadn’t been super into the show—I enjoyed it, but didn’t participate I guess. But this time I was in the third row and singing along and fully there. I was mesmerized by how the singer moves his mouth. They need confetti during We Are the Tide, but that’s the only thing that could improve the set.
I’ve only been listening to them since late September—I bought their first album on Sept 30, and their latest on Oct 12, but they’re my top artist for the past week/month/3 months/6 months on last.fm, and 9th overall. I listened to them as I drove away from Megan’s on my last trip to the new house, crying as I left behind Flower-dog and that chapter of my life. They were on One Tree Hill & so perfect.
Anyway I haven’t raved about a band in a while, but I am raving about Blind Pilot. You really oughta check them out.
