So I got tickets for Global Festival in NYC on Sept. 29—Neil Young & Crazyhorse, Foo Fighters, Black Keys, K’Naan, and (my real reason for wanting to go) Band of Horses. I’d stay with Marie, who’d come to the show with me. Travel expenses are about $125 roundtrip, plus food & fun. It’s in Central Park, it’s a free (ticketed) show, but it’s only from 5-9 so either sets will overlap or they’ll be fairly short. But I didn’t take a vacation this year so $200 is probably not too big a deal. But I do want to go to CA in December for the Limbeck shows, if they’d ever announce them. Also I did buy a house.

ALSO, I already have a ticket for a football game in town that day, and I have already missed one of 5 home games (I have season tickets), and I was planning on missing another for my 10-year high school reunion. And M83 is in town that night, so I could see that show for $40 or so (assume $60 for ticket, parking, and a drink or two). And I wouldn’t have to get Sassy down to my parents’ house, which would be good.

So this is called crowdsourcing because I am ostensibly asking for your advice on whether or not I should go to New York, but I think I have my answer. It doesn’t make sense to go, right?
